Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City, the current Davidson College senior has always had a passion for nature. Being afforded the luxury of attending Columbia Secondary School for middle school and high school, Rosalia was able to realize the importance of our actions on our Earth through yearly trips to either Upstate New York or an entirely different state. Through her involvement in an extracurricular group called TWEET This, a group focused on Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR), Rosalia began to find her voice in the field of sustainability through poetry — specifically her piece “If We Continue”. She continued her journey in the environmental field at Davidson College, where she is an Environmental Studies major on a Social Science track. She has big plans for To Protect Tomorrow, so be on the look out!
Rosalia Polanco will graduate from Davidson College in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Studies.
